A thoughtful outpouring, Jonathan. I hope it helped massage out the numbness. The world can be weighty, but I still stuff it into my backpack each day. I won't be ignorant, even if it is bliss. And at the end of the day, I can always wear pyjamas.

It helped, me, but not any of the things that need helping ;)

Thanks Alia, I really do appreciate your kind support here.

Amazing choices that stream from a storm. A sea people’s paradise collapse on the floor and the instant news Spain rain with mud balls thrown at Jo- King with h laughter , but nothing is done soon enough. Chair man’s on two feet. Cat whiskers tickle the toes while Kerry reposes on the floor wonders and wake from his collapsed state of mind “it’s pajama day. If only the world could explain what is going on that easily.

Every rain drop that fell made sheep slippers slide down plaid rushing waters. The rapid race to the sea people’s—

that band of stressed climate changed unknowns that brought civilization down. Then to rebuild a new cycle.

I like the change. The remote control of blackboard chalk screech and tires that honk, and cat’s pajamas.

“I read the news today, oh boy…”The Beatles~ A day in the life.

Congrats America, you have chosen the first ever President with the title of convicted felon, forever attached to his name. A billionaire set to be his right hand man. A vice P. with no experience except being well versed in misogyny. We are now on a rollercoaster ride, but the great machine is ‘out of order’ and the brakes don’t function. I’m sitting in a car, safety bar in the locked position, ready to descend for 4 years. Wearing my P.J.s.

At the moment, I’m desperately seeking clean air to breathe in, so off to the mountains tomorrow. I foresee there will be a lot of that in my future. The great escape. Thankful I have one. And grateful for you, working with words and doing the deep dive .You’re just the bee’s knees .

Love it, The Bees Knees, the perfect phrasal accompaniment to The Cats Pyjamas :)

Yep, the world is insane, mega-powerful, mega-privileged, infantilised billionaires throwing fits about how victimised they are is a peculiarly unpleasant creation of modern capitalism. But actual victims of the system voting for these tantrum throwing psychopathic narcissists, as if they were some kind of solution instead of part of the actual problem, is even harder to swallow. I completely agree that the machine is "out of order" for us, but for them, the billionaires, it is oiled and functioning like a beauty.

So yeah, thanks Lor, because knowing there are people like you reading and understanding and thinking and feeling is a real comfort in these dark days. I've just got back from a long forest trail with the dog, and I'm going to sit, have a cup of tea, ad think about...nothing at all :)

Something odd.

Head nods. No words.

This deserves more than one read. Rich musings. Deep social commentary. Thank you Jonathan!

hanks so much Síodhna. Social commentary feels pretty low these days, I hope we can all comment in a more joyful way in the near future. 🙏🏽

Whew! Remarkable piece Jonathan. I felt swept away in the detailed momentum of chaos, eerily mirroring the macrocosmic collapse. And then you tease our imaginations with the confusing “is this all a dream” pajama day, stage dressing the absurd surreal reality we’re all living in. I’d like to read this a few more times, I have a hunch I’ll pick up more each time. Your writing always delivers layered depth and meaning.

Momentum of chaos - what a great line! And yes, absurdity is a vital part of this one. Not sure really if this is a useful reaction to all the craziness, but it is what it is :)

Thanks so much Kimberly
