The philosophy I looked for today not knowing I needed this. Wonderfully done, magic (as all insight is). I’ve let go of the mechanics myself.

That's almost exactly how I felt writing it, something that came without my bidding or my knowing I needed to process it. I need to read it again just to fathom my own soul. Writing eh, what a pleasure!

And yeah, I've put down my spanners too. Good on those twisting all the screws but I'm no longer sure if they are tightening or loosening everything ;)

Thanks so much again for commenting (and restacking) Patris.

We’re never meant to, why we’re shocked when realization strikes I’m guessing

Rich writing, so very fluid with curious ambitions of holding on to uncertainties, mysteries and questioning the usefulness of pursuing the "answers". I am feeling similar in the embracing mysteries line of thinking. Great stuff. thanks

I feel like that bubble -- ready to burst, minus the glimmering mist :)

Beautiful words, Jonathan!

Magical! The perfect meal, the perfect company, and you met a fairy, too!! I love how the narrative of the meal, which sounded lovely all by itself, seemed all the more magical when bookended with two sightings of your fairy and her ethereal, exquisitely temporal bubbles. XO

Your reply is beautiful. You may want to add an epilogue. I read it smiling, and nodding my head in agreement. I’ll take a tiny amount of credit for adding a teaspoon of fertilizer.

“Sometimes I think these moments are like life planting seeds that take time to germinate and grow.”

Nurtured by moments.

My speech at the comment Oscar’s :

“Thank you, thank you, but I cannot take full credit for this well deserved Comment Oscar without mentioning the teaspoon of fertiliser from the one and only Lor!”

Good. I’m ready now 😂

Did you take a moment to stop and glance behind? She may have been hiding .Showing herself only to your deepest wanderings . Or maybe I should say , and your inner most wonderings. I do believe you were supposed to have arrived there at that moment . It seems you may have come across

‘a thin place’. You probably suspected the same. It was for you to witness, but not to enter. Not yet.

During the path of totality of this past summer. I felt one. Spectacular insignificance of our minute place in this universe. An otherworldly film , similar to a jellyfish, filled me with an almost unbearable emotion. Like you, it was only meant to witness.

“I now recognise that wisdom may well lie in enjoying these uncertainties, mysteries and doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason.”

Ask Benny, dogs can sense these things, so much better than we can.

Good boy! ( Happy to have him along again).

And the entire paragraph, “The morning light is strengthening …..perfume of a woody life and death. “ This in itself is a gorgeous poem.

Sometimes I think these moments are like life planting seeds that take time to germinate and grow. Eventually, if you let them, they bloom into realisations or understandings or learnings that help you grow too. You just water them with calm patient introspection and tend them and they’ll reveal something true.

About “spectacular insignificance”, I love that feeling, it’s very humbling. But also revealing of the nature of the universe where the infinite and the microscopic seem to be the same. We are spectacularly insignificant yet as conscious beings witnessing all things were also spectacularly significant at the same time.

Thanks for the kind words about the forest paragraph, Lor, Benny will like that, he thinks all the rest is just flimflam :)

I love it too! I struggle a bit with it, being inclined to tamper, and a little nervous of Cargo Cult style conclusions, but yeah, there’s some truth ringing there that I love :)

Thanks so much Leon.

“This is a place where humans work. Where humans eat. Where humans understand that diligence and patient nurturing brings forth excellence, joy and gratitude, which in any sane world would be enough”

I love that you said this, for me it is always enough, there is nothing more charming or agreeable than being treated with dignity, as if nobody else matters at that moment even though we know they do.

“There is the pungent smell of warm wood and pine needles and a resinous sweet scent of vitality above the deep rich odour of decay and decomposition below, a powerful perfume of a woody life and death.”

A favourite place and a favourite scent! You probably guessed….

“…the high pitch rustling of leaves build a chorus as the figure seems to rise inside her bubble and drift across the lake.”

There is a message in every sight we think we see… nature in all her mischievous ways knows just when those messages are needed or necessary. It is up to you to understand what they mean though… I don’t think you’d search for meaning too long my friend..

Ok, I’m stopping now… may your week be filled with magical bubbles Jonathan, this was deliciously inspiring 🫧

It’s a beautiful thing to be treated with dignity isn’t it! Not for the profit or for some stupid class hierarchy or other dark arts, but because attention is being paid and you are seen as a fellow human being. Wonderful. It spreads fast too, kindness, like a good virus :)

Love what you say about nature mischievously sending messages to those you pay attention, like a artisan chef and his sommelier son might :)

I hope you have a wonderful week too Susie. And thanks 🙏🏼
